Garners’ recent projects reap recognition
Three projects whose commercial catering areas were designed, supplied and installed by Garners Food Service Equipment in the last year have made their way onto numerous shortlists for design and construction awards in the West Midlands.
Our recent project (the National College for High Speed Rail (NCHSR), the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the massive Longbridge Retirement Village) are nominated for prestigious ceremonies including the 2018 RIBA West Midlands Awards and the Celebrating Construction Awards.
NCHSR and the Longbridge scheme went on to win the Best Educational Building and the Best High Volume New Housing Development categories (respectively) at the Celebrating Construction Awards, while the NCHSR unfortunately missed out on Building Project of the Year.
At the upcoming RIBA West Midlands awards, both the NCHSR and Conservatoire are amongst the 11 nominees up to win the regional award. If won, they it will automatically push them forward for national consideration. See our case study on the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire here.
Our Business Development Director, Andy Brown (who had a hands-on role in delivering the Conservatoire and NCHSR projects) expressed his pride in seeing the collection of venues receive design and construction awards. “It’s a privilege to be working with such blue chip organisations and seeing their investment in quality design partners and products recognised in this way is extremely well deserved. We wish all concerned every success.”
The National College for High Speed Rail is a huge new structure, purpose-built to educate the next generation of railway engineers and is found only a stone’s throw away from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The conservatoire serves as the main teaching building for Birmingham City University’s performing arts school and was opened in March by HRH Prince Edward. Longbridge Retirement Village is owned by Garners’ longstanding client ExtraCare and makes up part of the £1 billion regeneration scheme for the local area.
