DWP PIP Eligibility Update 2026: 178 Medical Conditions Qualifying for Up to £194 Per Week

Starting in April, the Department for Work and Pensions will raise its Personal Independence Payments (PIP). You might be able to get this money. If you meet the requirements, the DWP has put out a full list of 178 medical conditions that could make you eligible for weekly support of £194.60.

This payment along with other benefits, will go up as the new financial year approaches. People who need extra help with daily tasks can get PIP payments. This disability benefit is for people who have long-term physical or mental health problems, disabilities, or learning disabilities. In the financial year 2026/2027, people who get help will get either £80 or £114.60 every week, depending on how much help they need. You could get up to £194.60 if you qualify.

PIP is meant to help people who need help with daily tasks, especially those who are of State Pension age and want to stay independent at home. These payments are not based on income and are not taxed.

The Express says that you don’t have to pay National Insurance or have a lot of money to qualify for PIP. This means that even if you work, have savings, or get other benefits, you can still get the payments to help you with daily tasks.

PIP includes both a daily living rate and a mobility rate. You may be able to get one or both of these payments at the same time. Each of these rates has a base rate and a higher rate.

What is the cost of PIP?

These are the most recent weekly rates, which will start being paid in April. However it’s important to remember that PIP is paid every four weeks:

Daily living component: £76.70 per week (lower rate) or £114.60 per week (higher rate)

Mobility component: £30.30 per week (lower rate) or £80.00 per week (higher rate)

So if you qualify for both the enhanced daily living and enhanced mobility components, you’ll get a total of £194.60 every four weeks.

If you meet the requirements for both the standard daily living and standard mobility components, you will get £107 every four weeks.
