Storm Dave is on its way to the UK this weekend, and the country is getting ready for a cold weekend. There have been many wind and snow warnings issued.

Warnings will be in effect from Saturday evening until the early hours of Easter Sunday for Scotland, Northern Ireland, north Wales, and parts of northern England.
Winds of 50 to 60 mph are likely to blow across most of the warning areas, and winds of 60 to 70 mph are possible in places that are open to the wind. In northern Scotland, where “blizzard conditions” are expected, the winds will be strong and the snow will be heavy.

Tom Crabtree, the deputy chief forecaster at the Met Office, said, “Storm Dave will form and quickly get stronger on Saturday as it moves toward the UK from the west.”
Storm Dave will bring strong winds and heavy snow to the hills in northern Scotland. Up to 10โ20 cm of snow could fall there. This, along with the strong winds, will make it feel like a blizzard. As the system moves east across the UK, there will be heavy rain in other places.
“Storm Dave is only a few days away, so people should get their homes ready for the strong winds and keep an eye on the weather forecast, as it is likely that the warnings will be updated.”
A yellow wind warning will be in effect from 5 p.m. on Saturday until 7 a.m. on Sunday for parts of North East England, North West England, South West Scotland, Lothian Borders, Strathclyde, Wales, and Yorkshire & Humber.
From 6 p.m. on Saturday to noon on Sunday, the rest of Scotland is under a wind warning. In open areas, winds could reach 80 to 90 mph.
Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, and Strathclyde are also under a snow warning. In places over 200m high, snow could build up to 5 to 10cm. On Saturday morning, temperatures in northern Scotland could drop to 0C.

Five-day weather forecast from the Met Office
There are clouds and a breeze in England and Wales, and rain is slowly moving south. There are sunny spells and showers in other places, but these are wintry on some northern hills. The wind makes me feel cold.
What to expect from Saturday to Monday
Storm Dave will hit the north late on Saturday, but most of the time it will be cloudy. On Sunday, there will be both sun and rain, but it will still be windy in the north. Monday will be mostly dry, but rain will come to Northern Ireland later.
